Site Selection Process

Hallmark makes the final decision on site selection through a process that has been developed through many years of experience.

Hallmark has a market development department that utilizes advanced technology to study demographic information and identify possible sites for Hallmark stores. We also have a highly skilled group of field personnel who specialize in site selection. This group visits sites recommended by the market development department and does additional field research. They also identify sites through their first hand knowledge of specific market areas. The combination of technology, personal experience, and specialized knowledge of market areas results in the selection of sites that have the best possible chance of retail success.

In addition, a team of Hallmark real estate professionals, located both in the field and in-house, assists our retailers in lease negotiations. This is a service provided to Hallmark retailers to insure our retailers have lease terms that provide the best opportunity to be as retail-productive as possible.

If there is a location you feel would be "perfect" for a Hallmark store, we may consider the location you have in mind, but it will need to meet Hallmark's site selection criteria. The best way to come to the site selection process as a new candidate is to have a general geography in mind, then let our professional staff bring sites to you to consider.
